About Eric Schwenker
From The Beginning
Eric C. Schwenker is a Queensbury native, born and raised by his parents, Dr. David and Mary Lynn Schwenker, in Warren County—a community he is proud to serve both professionally and personally. A graduate of Queensbury High School, Hamilton College, and the University at Buffalo School of Law, Eric has built a career dedicated to justice, fairness, and public service.

My Professional Career
Eric’s legal career has been defined by his dedication to justice, fairness, and public service. He began his career as a prosecutor under longtime Warren County District Attorney Kate Hogan, gaining invaluable courtroom experience while advocating for victims and upholding the law. He later joined Brennan & White, LLP, working alongside esteemed attorneys Joe Brennan, Dan Stewart and Bill White, where he expanded his expertise in litigation and legal advocacy. Eric then served as a law clerk to New York State Supreme Court justices, including David B. Krogmann where he developed a deep understanding of judicial decision-making and the importance of thoughtful, well-reasoned
rulings in matters ranging from family law to constitutional
matters.
Eric also practices law with McPhillips, Fitzgerald & Cullum, where he continues to litigate complex and high-stakes cases, including federal court matters, commercial litigation, and family law disputes. Additionally, Eric has proudly served as President of the Warren County Bar Association, further demonstrating his leadership and commitment to the legal profession His ability to navigate the legal system at all levels—local, state, and federal—has equipped him with a well-rounded legal perspective that he brings to his judicial role as Queensbury Town Justice.
For nearly ten years, Eric has proudly served as Queensbury Town Justice, where he believes he has earned a reputation for his fair, practical, and common-sense approach to the law. In his time on the bench, he has worked to ensure that every individual who comes before the court is treated with respect, dignity, and fairness. His judicial experience has reinforced his belief that courts should not only provide legal rulings but also serve as a stabilizing force in the community. His work on cases of first impression in federal courts provided him with invaluable experience in handling novel legal issues and shaping precedent.
Eric remains dedicated to his community and its values beyond just his legal career. Both he and his wife were born and raised in Warren County, and they are deeply committed to giving back as youth sports coaches and volunteers. They were raised with the belief that serving their community is a responsibility, and they strive to instill those same values in the next generation and with their own three boys. Whether through coaching, mentoring, or lending a hand where needed, Eric and his family are devoted to strengthening the community that has shaped them.
It is this deep connection to Warren County and its values that drives Eric’s desire to serve as Family Court Judge. Having grown up here, he understands and appreciates the rich history and positive values that make this community strong. He believes that Family Court should reflect those values, offering stability, fairness, and thoughtful decision-making for families and children who may be facing the most difficult times in their lives. In his view, Family Court is not just about legal rulings—it is about anchoring our community in the principles that have allowed it to grow and thrive. His mission is to ensure that the court serves as a force for justice and support, helping families navigate challenges while reinforcing the strong foundation that defines Warren County.
